Who are we?
Kapiti Catholic Child and Youth Ministry provides a number of programmes for our youth aimed at preschoolers through to young adults in the wider Kapiti community.
Currently, the Youth Ministry groups are run by volunteer teams supported by the Youth Coordinator and the Kapiti Catholic Child & Youth Support Group (KCCYSG). The KCYSG is a group of parishioners who provide support and opportunities for our youth to fulfil their potential as disciples of Jesus and become active members of our Church.
WE are all brothers and sisters in our family, the Church. Acknowledging that it takes a whole community to raise a child, we need you! There are a variety of ways in which you can assist us to build our community. Some people are called to lead Groups and others are called to more of a behind the scenes support role, such as helping with resourcing, brainstorming ideas and assisting the leaders, to name but a few.
Your involvement in Youth Ministry can range from an hour a year to a weekly commitment. But first and foremost – please include us in your daily prayers.
Where can you find us?
The Child & Youth Office is located at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 29 Parata Street, Waikanae. The office is open every Tuesday & Thursday during term time 9.30am – 2.30pm, so feel free to drop in and have a chat.
Please talk to our Youth Coordinator today about how you can help us utilise the wisdom of age and the enthusiasm of youth to build a vibrant parish community within the Kapiti Catholic Community.
